The Tender – The unsung hero, built to complement the aesthetics of the mothership. Ranging in size and design, the tender is on hand to support the superyacht where required, in some cases delivering the first contact of luxury to guests, before their arrival on the main vessel.
They can be highly customized, featuring extravagant interiors, advanced navigation systems, and powerful engines to provide style and substance.
Overall, superyacht tenders are crucial for enhancing the luxury experience, providing both convenience and a range of leisure activities for yacht owners and guests.
With several boat builders dedicated to creating these fine tenders, we take a look at ten that we love.
1. Chase X – Van Dutch 40 – 12 meters
Accompanying the 88-meter Project X is this customised Van Dutch 40, which joins the fleet including two additional tenders.
2. Compass – 10.5 meters
The latest addition to the Motoryacht Aquila fleet is this 10.5-meter from Southampton-based Compass Tenders. Aquila was last refitted in 2021 and features 4 Tenders, each relied upon for different responsibilities.
3. Steeler – 9.05m
A distinctive boat such as the motoryacht Kenshō deserves a distinctive tender. The 9-meter Steeler Limo is colour-coded to perfection and designed to transport you in style.
4. Pascoe – 10.4m
In the tender garage of the mammoth 106-meter sail yacht Black Pearl, live three tenders including the beautifully custom-designed Pascoe Limousine.
5. Marcus Aurelius/Spartacus – Anvera – 14.6m
The 45-meter Feadship vessel, Gladiator has two of these tenders. One for use in the Caribbean/Bahamas, and the other for when the boat is chartering the Mediterranean. They are aptly named “Marcus Aurelius” and “Spartacus”
6. Wajer – 16.83m
The largest tender on our list is the customised Wajer 55, which can be found onboard the support vessel U-81. It may be the largest in our list, but it’s not the largest in the fleet of U-81.
7. I.C. Yacht – 8.95m
Atlante One & Atlante Two are the tenders for the 54.8m CRN-built, Atlante. Customised to match the aesthetic of the mothership, these luxury limousines allow guests to enjoy all weather with open and cabin options.
8. Vikal – 12m Catamaran
The 12m tender is the only catamaran on our list and was a trusty servant to the yacht formerly known as Topaz. A workhorse of a tender, built to serve as a people mover, dive platform, and cargo supply ferry to list a few of its duties.
9. XTenders – 9.5m
This sleek vessel is designed to complement Savannah’s innovative aesthetic, offering passengers a seamless transition from the mothership to shore or other on-water activities. It combines advanced engineering with premium finishes, ensuring comfort and performance in all conditions.
10. Nor-Tech – King Benji
The final tender on our list is the impressive 12-meter Nor-Tech that serves motoryacht King Benji. She is powered by triple 400hp Mercury engines, designed for performance and style. This sleek tender delivers both speed and comfort, ensuring seamless transfers and a luxurious experience for all aboard.
