dsnm Ltd, a specialist superyacht navigation management company, has announced its acquisition of NavigatX, combining two complementary areas of expertise into a unified organisation.

This acquisition makes it the largest independently owned maritime navigation company, who also offers full hardware support and refits – the only company in the world that offers both.

Founded 25 years ago, dsnm has built its business into a highly trusted provider of maritime software solutions and technical support, expanding from a fleet of almost 700 vessels with a team of 35 specialists. They help captains and crews operate safer, more efficient and fully-compliant vessels through dedicated management, award-winning passage planning software, technical support and crew training.

Four years ago, NavigatX was established as a dedicated sister company, created to focus on bridge refits, marine electronics, and ongoing bridge hardware support.  Since its inception, NavigatX has distinguished itself across the global superyacht fleet, working on projects with vessels up to 140-metres in length.

Strengthening Operational Efficiency

At its core, the acquisition represents significant growth and aligns with dsnm’s ongoing strategic plan, to selectively expand its service offerings in the international superyacht sector.

Chief Executive Officer David Store explains, “NavigatX was born because we could see a gap between the standard of hardware support available to yachts and the level of service our customers had come to expect from dsnm. Bringing the two businesses together is the natural next step. It gives our customers one trusted partner for both software and hardware, backed by even better technical expertise, stronger project delivery and a team that understands the bridge as a complete operation.

Chief Operating Officer Alicia Store shares, “For me, this acquisition is less about making dsnm bigger and much more about making what we offer better.

Our ambition has always been to support our yachts and their crews as completely as possible, with the knowledge, expertise and accountability sitting within our own team. NavigatX was built around the same principle that has driven dsnm for more than 25 years, do what you say you’re going to do and look after the customer properly.

dsnm is largest independently owned navigation management company in the sector, acquiring NavigatX means we can now offer navigation management, our own software, bridge hardware expertise and product supply all under one roof.

It gives us an offering that nobody else currently has, one company, one team and one point of accountability for the bridge, while retaining the personal service our customers know us for.

Finally, Project Manager Robbie Aitken explains, “Both businesses have always shared the same commitment to delivering high-quality service, so bringing our teams together felt like a natural progression.

As Project Manager, I’m looking forward to building on the strong relationships we’ve already established while working with an even broader range of customers. We’ll continue to focus on careful planning, clear communication and delivering every project to the highest possible standard.

This acquisition gives us an even stronger platform to support our customers, and I’m excited to see what we can achieve together as we continue to grow.

With everything centralised under one company, the deal positions them as one of the leading maritime navigation businesses. Looking ahead, the focus will be on ensuring a smooth transition for their clients, and maintaining the highest standards of delivery for customers within the same ecosystem.
